Dear Sir, I am presently researching my family name of Timperley. They were farmers of Urmston in the main . I have already received a tremendous amount of help from Bowdon Parish Church[ St Mary's]
I would be most obliged if you would offer some guidance and information as to if you have any members of the Timperley family interred or have been parishoners. The particular names I am interested in are of the Ezra Timperley Family.
Yours faithfully D.Timperley.
God bless.

Dear Sir

I too am researching my Astley ancestors who come from Sale. I live in South Africa and am unable to visit your ancient Parish. Could you direct me as to how I could find any records, birth, marriage or death of the Astley family and if you have any interred in your parish graveyard?

Yours faithfully Amanda Jephson

Hello Amanda,

I'm not related to that church at all, I just used to live nearby and took some photos of the church and yard one day when cycling around.

If you want to get in touch with St. Martin's, their telephone number is listed on this webpage, along with several others in the Sale area, and links to a few websites.

The parish archivist of the nearby St. Paul's in Sale is Michael J. Riley, he can be contacted at:
78 School Road, SALE, Cheshire, M33 7XB, Tel: 0161 969 - 2795,

And Sale library has a local studies section with records and archives. Here's some useful page from the Trafford libraries site:

Good luck!
